Career & Motherhood

Thursday 12th June 2025, Avalon Pilates Studios, Earlsfield

Event Summary

Every event is different and this one was the most intimate & personal yet. Expert practitioners Zanna St Quinton (Psychotherapist) and Kellie Nedelcoux (Leadership & Parental Coach) led us through a conversation addressing individual circumstances & concerns for the women in the room recently returned – or soon to return- to work after parental leave. We talked about mindset and practical steps to help prepare for return; the things to ask of your employers to support your return; the concept of ‘balance’ and what that really looks like when navigating careers and parenthood at the same time; the wider impacts of ‘the juggle’ on relationships and self-confidence; we talked about values and the critical importance of these when life feels busy and overwhelming; we talked about the emotional needs we all have and the impact of these not being met; the importance of ‘self-care’ for our own health, but also the health of our relationships and family units. We shared, we empathised, we normalised, and we came away with practical tools to help navigate what can often feel a complicated and stressful phase of life. Avalon’s brilliant founder, Anna, then got us moving with some spicy reformer pilates to strengthen our core whilst Rose Nannies looked after the smalls. And Louco was there to re-fuel us with their protein shakes tailored for women’s unique hormonal and physiological needs whilst we chatted and enjoyed.

Expert Speakers

Zanna St Quinton

Zanna is a Human Givens Psychotherapist with a particular focus on supporting parents as they navigate the many challenges that come with becoming – and being – a parent. She is a mother of two girls and spent 12 years in the corporate world before taking time out to be a full-time mum, and later re-training as a therapist. In her private practice, Zanna offers practical, positive, and solution-focused therapy, underpinned by the Human Givens approach – the idea that when our essential emotional needs are met in balance, we’re able to thrive.

Kellie Nedelcoux

Founder of ‘Career & Parenthood’, Kellie supports working parents and returners through the challenges of combining career & caregiving. With 15+ years in senior HR leadership roles and deep coaching expertise, she helps organisations build inclusive, family-friendly cultures – and empowers parents to thrive, not just survive.
